Dermapen combined with PRP
I thought that I would take this time to explain to you how effective the Dermapen can be especially when combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), and why I have decided to introduce it as a treatment at Tia Calder Aesthetics.
Firstly, the Dermapen is effective in correcting and rejuvenating many face and body concerns. The Dermapen is an amazing technology that has been developed to: induce natural collagen production, whilst assisting with tightening and lifting the skin. Treats pigmentation and sun damaged skin by allowing deeper penetration of products. It treats all types of scars including acne scarring, keloid and surgical scars. The Dermapen reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, such as forehead, frown and lips lines, not forgetting the crows feet. It also improves stretch marks, generally prevents the appearance of aging skin, and helps with rosacea by strengthening the skin. The Dermapen diminishes the appearance of enlarged pores.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), many of you may know it as the Vampire facial or facelift, is used for skin rejuvenation, so it can reduce fine lines and wrinkle and increase collagen. Same way as you would have your blood taken, is how this treatment works. A blood sample is taken from your arm and is spun in a machine called a centrifuge, this separates the components of the blood. Once it is ready the, you will see the plasma which is like a urine coloured fluid separated in the tube. This is the plasma, which is what holds all the natural growth factors. This plasma is then injected or skin needled back into the skin with the Dermapen, to stimulate cells that are inactive to promote collagen and tissue growth.
When I first started using the Dermapen, I would use family members as my guinea pigs just to see for myself what all the fuss was about with the Dermapen. I had seen before and after Dermapen treatments on websites etc, but I am sometimes a bit sceptical about pictures because sometimes it looks too good to be true. Out of the treatments that I had done on family members, I found that stretch mark reduction results were amazing, after 3 sessions I could see how much it had helped. However the other treatment results were good, but some my uncompliant family members didn’t keep up with their treatments as they had other priorities. For best results and to get the most out of your treatment it is recommended to have have a course of treatment sessions because 1 session is not going to give you the best results.
Throughout doing these treatment, I thought to myself , because I have been interested in PRP for a long time, I wonder how good the results would have been if the treatment was combined with your own plasma from your body, which reduces the risk of allergic reaction because it’s your own blood. So I thought what better than to do training for PRP and combine it with the Dermapen and introduce it into the clinic. Not only does it give you amazing results, but it can reduce the number of treatment sessions you may need. For example, if you wanted skin rejuvenation treatment which typically consists of 4-6 treatment sessions, by combining and PRP together could reduce your treatments to maybe 3 sessions.
The Vampire Facelift is well known by celebrities, many of you who may know Kim Kardashian who loves this treatment, and was filmed having the treatment done on her reality show “Keeping up with the Kardashians”. So it’s a treatment that has been out for a good few years now and a lot of celebs are opting for it, because it’s a quick and simple treatment, there’s minimal downtime and the results are fantastic.
This treatment is very satisfying for a lot of people. What are your thoughts on this combination? I would love to hear about your experiences. Feel free to leave your comments below.
